We sold these elegant Pashmina shawls ten years ago. Ten years on we have customers coming back to us for more - so we're making them available again. We also thought they'd be of interest to our braided rug customers.
· Our ‘Pashmina and Silk’ Pashmina shawls are hand-crafted in a small American run workshop near Kathmandu.
· Made from a 1-ply blend of the finest 70% pashmina wool / 30% silk, they're professionally spun and then woven on traditional hand-looms. The result is a fine, smooth shawl that won’t pill or shed. These shawls are naturally soft (delicious against bare skin!) and have a wonderful sheen and drape, unlike poor quality versions that are fluffy and rather ordinary looking.
· The silk component is a warp of spun silk that runs the length of the shawl resulting in the silk tassels that are so characteristic of pashmina shawls. It takes one person an entire day to twist and knot the ends of one shawl.
· A three-in-one garment, these Pashminas (measuring a generous 203cm long x 91cm wide) can be worn as a shawl, folded in half to make a stole, or they make a fantastic scarf! Fold in four lengthwise, fold in half so tassels are at one end, drape around your neck and pull the tassels through the loop.
· Perfect for the summer with a pretty dress or glamourous evening outfit. Easier to wear than a cardigan, and warm enough to ward off an evening breeze or airconditioning. Weighing just 230g they’re also perfect for travelling.
· Because the best Swiss dyes have been used, these shawls can be hand washed in luke warm water. Or you can specialist dry clean if you prefer.
· If you shop around you'll often see "Pashminas" for as little as $50 / $60. It's likely they're not real Pashminas or of very poor quality. Our high quality Pashmina shawls are reasonably priced because we buy them direct from the workshop in Nepal.
· NB. Pashmina wool or cashmere comes from the fine inner coat of the domesticated Capra Hircus goat and shouldn't be confused with Shahtoosh wool that comes from the endangered Tibetan antelope called Chiru, and which was banned in 1975.
To make enquiries or place a credit card order please telephone (02) 9818 5840. Or if you prefer, you can reserve a shawl and post a chq or money order.

Shawls that have been worn can't be returned for refund or exchange. Postage costs are not refundable unless a shawl is faulty or not as ordered. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the sender.
